About Brigette

My name is Brigette, and I'm a writer.

I like writing about families, houses, people who spend too much time in their heads, when you can’t tell what’s really happening and what you’re just making up, weird memories, confusing relationships, feeling disconnected, feeling connected.

I am not a nihilist. I will never write “the ventriloquist dummy is evil because she’s evil.” No more horror movies like that, okay?

I'm a graduate of Albion College, New Mexico Highlands University, and Michigan State University.  Formerly an English instructor, my non-writing life now includes working as a mental health therapist and bereavement support group clinician in my home state of Michigan.
