My name is Brigette, and I'm a writer.
I like writing about families, friendship, houses, people who spend too much time in their heads, when you can’t tell what’s really happening and what you’re just making up, weird memories,
confusing relationships, feeling disconnected, feeling connected.
My one regret in life is that in second grade, I won a contest where actors performed a story a student wrote in front of the whole school, but I forgot what day they were coming and faked sick
because I wanted to keep sleeping. In my defense, I didn't know I'd won.
My life as an adult includes obsessing over television shows to a pathological degree, feeding/screaming at the woodland creatures in the yard as if they were my pets, and spilling fast food in
my car as I listen to podcasts.
I'm a graduate of Albion College, New Mexico Highlands University, and Michigan State University. Formerly an English instructor, I'm now a mental health therapist and bereavement support group
clinician in my home state of Michigan.
